#helpDOT

Nothing like a bunch of people willing to volunteer to help the Department of Tourism (DOT) in promoting Philippine tourism. Thanks to Carlos Celdran for sparking interest in the matter. Now, Team Manila and many others are stepping up to the plate in making their contribution in helping tourism efforts.

I definitely want to do my part as well, and posting these posters by Team Manila is a start.

A poster inspired by Carlos Celdran and his Old Manila Walk tours.
I'm definitely taking that tour in my next visit to Manila.

I've never been, but I hear it's breathtaking.
The Chocolate Hills are made up of 1,776 hills covered with green grass.
I want to see it for myself. I suggest you do too.

Sulu Sea contains a number of islands, and is home to Tubbataha Reef National Marine Park - which is one of the World Heritage Sites.

Approximately an hour away from Manila is a town where you'll find Taal Volcano. I grew up frequently visiting Tagaytay, a town overlooking the volcano. It is a spectacular sight to see.

They even made one for my hometown!
Hinulugang Taktak is definitely worth a visit.
Visit the Antipolo Cathedral while you're in town.

Do you have a blog? A Facebook account? Twitter? Post these posters, or better yet write about your favorite place in the Philippines. And while you're at it, follow @carlosceldran, @teammanila, and @entengromano on Twitter and suggest ways to help promote tourism in the Philippines.

I've always been drawn to the androgynous look. This picture best captures the look I like.

I am head over heels in love with Amanda Wakeley's exquisite bridal gowns.

By now, you should know that I am a real sucker for flowy, airy, ethereal gowns. And Amanda Wakeley, definitely hit the spot for me. You can find more of her lovely creations here.

bored to death is never a bore

Have you guys heard of Bored to Death? Last weekend, D and I had a Bored to Death marathon, and I am hooked! And can I just say, I love you Jason Schwartzman. But probably not as much as I love Mr. Galifianakis!

I am so psyched it got picked up for a second season. Because, really, the 8 episodes for season 1 were not enough. I want more of this brilliant TV series!

baby dreams

Recently chanced upon Mila's Daydreams, a blog of a talented mom by the name of Adele who took on a new hobby while on maternity leave - that is to take pictures of her baby sleeping and imagining what her little one is dreaming about.

This is just too cute to pass up. Too cute, I say!

crisp white goodness

Nothing like a crisp white suit to make you look sharp and ready to take on the world. Perfect for Mondays, don't you think?

Pleasantly came across The Impossible Cool, a blog dedicated to posting fascinating photos of equally fascinating personalities.

Coddington.

JFK Jr.

Lennon.

Baker.

Warhol.

Waits.

I've spent a good amount of the day just browsing through photos. Yeah, this blog will have that effect on you. Definitely worth following.

a pile of books

I love books - reading them, collecting them, and displaying them on bookshelves. But this? This is just... [insert a feeling of mixed reverence and respect and wonder].

Jonathan Callan, I am at a loss for words.

harinezumi i want

I don't have a digital camera. I refuse to get one. In fact, D has offered to get me one for Christmas last year but I vehemently opposed the idea. Thanks, but no thanks. I would like to stick to analog film, thankyouverymuch.

But the Digital Harinezumi made me think twice, especially with the release of the Digittal Harinezumi 2 with audio capabilities. I think what really drew me in is the fact that I can still enjoy the imperfections of the blurry and out of focus shots, but at the same time enjoy the convenience of being able to upload it asap as opposed to waiting weeks, or in my case months, to finish a roll of film.

 It's teeny tiny!

What's more, the Digital Harinezumi enables users to shoot videos! I am head over heels in love with this feature and just thinking of all the flimsy, shaky videos I can take with it makes me want to squeal with the distinctive exhilaration of a 15-year-old Justin Bieber fan.

I can watch Harinezumi videos all day. In fact, D and I pleasantly wasted our whole morning watching a bunch of them. Here's one video that I luuuurve:

There's more here. Oh and here.

When I get one, and I WILL SOON, I will name it Naoyumi, which is the name of the youngest and only daughter of my Japanese neighbor back in Manila.

I can't wait to get Naoyumi!

shoes on the wall

Shoes are really meant to be displayed - hanging on the wall on beautiful painted molding, no less. Definitely a DIY project that every girl can and should do.

I am loving the bold red-orange-lips look. But I'm not sure I can rock it. Anyhoo, here's a useful tip for red-orange lipstick hopefuls like me.

chocolatey and minty

Thanks to Bakerella, my mouth is watering for these sweets.

Dark Chocolate Mint Brownies

Flat Chocolate Mint Cookies

Actually, I want anything that have these in them.

Back home (in Manila), I used to bake quite a bit. Now if only we had an oven at home, I would bake these goodies everyday. Wanna know how to make these? Here's the recipe.

little white dress

I posted this over at our wedding site to give our guests (the ladies, specifically) ideas of what to wear on our wedding day. But I love the little white dress look so much I thought of posting it here too.

These are the looks I've rounded up from my favorite style bloggers.

Sabrina of afterDRK

Erin of calivintage

Jessica of What I Wore

Christina of Second Skin Style

Taylor of Sterling Style

Isabelle of Bohemian Musings

Denni of chicmuse

I'd love to wear all white everyday if only I wasn't so much of a klutz. I consider myself lucky if I get through a day without staining a white top, dress, or pants. I thank the geniuses who invented bleach.
