boho chic

You know I'm a real sucker for understated, laid back weddings. So it's no surprise I fell head over heels for this bohemian farm wedding I spotted at Once Wed.

Courtney and Taavo's wedding was beautifully captured by Josie Miner. More to love here.

That dress! A Zac Posen masterpiece.

marry me in the library

If D and I weren't getting married on the beach, I would love to get married in a historic library. Just like this wedding that I spotted over at Style Me Pretty. Anne and Noah's historic library wedding is a dream!

french style

I've acquired a newly-found appreciation for anything French. Like this French-style veil. It's so romantic, so lovely.

birthday piñata

Same day next week, I will be turning 28. I'm thinking of throwing a Mexican theme party. And yes, I want a piñata for my birthday. This Ice Cream Cone Piñata would be perfect!

You can make your own! Here's how.

billie goes to my head

I've been busy with work lately, unfortunately sucked into the world of annual reports which is no fun by any means. No sir. But I've been getting a kick out of listening to a lot of Billie Holiday. I also noticed that my productivity goes up a notch while I'm listening to her. Her voice has a way of calming my nerves.

Anyhoo, here's two of my favorite Billie Holiday songs.

attn: friends that come over

We're having a little get together at home today. Our friends will be arriving any minute now. But I'd like to take this time to thank them, borrowing the words of Leah Dieterich of course.

mismatched plates

Aren't these mismatched plates lovely? I think it's one of the brilliant details in this sweet Oregon wedding. Such a great idea to collect these before the wedding and then use them at home after the wedding!

easy like sunday morning

I'm in the midst of a slow and lazy Sunday. There's a good chance that the whole day will be spent watching TV, munching on snacks, surfing the net... all in the comfort of my bed. But you know what? I wouldn't mind being transported here.

This just reminds me how much I need (and want!) a vacation.
Enjoy your Sunday, kids!

if you want to sing out, sing out

How was your weekend? The weekend started as early as Thursday for us here in Bangkok as we celebrated the Queen's birthday. Thanks to the gloomy weather, D and I opted to stay in and sleep all weekend. We capped off our relaxing weekend by watching the cult classic Harold and Maude. Have you guys seen it? You must!

Maude is just made of pure awesome. I wish I can grab life by the balls like she did when I grow older.

hooked on radiolab

D and I have made it a habit to listen to Radiolab, usually before we go to bed. I don't know why always before bed. I guess it's because we find it to be a relaxing way to end the day. Personally, I find Jad Abumrad and Robert Krulwich's voices soothing, which is probably the reason why I sometimes find myself dozing off right in the middle of a podcast.

Anyway, for you who haven't heard of Radiolab, it is a radio program that focuses on highly stimulating topics that range from the scientific to the philosophical - like parasites to the after life. I'm telling you, it's so fascinating you'll get hooked in no time (I know I am).

So last night, we listened to the episode on words which makes you contemplate on how it impacts the way we think and feel. And in relation to that captivating episode, flimmakers Will Hoffman and Daniel Mercadante made an equally captivating video.

Pretty awesome, huh?

inside etsy

With all the awesome stuff that come from Etsy, one would think it's not only overflowing with highly creative people but their workplace has got to be a cool place to work in. True enough, their office did not disappoint.

Now, this is an office I would definitely love to work in.

A ping pong table in the office? Too cool.

I'd love to settle in one of these workstations.

This has got to be my favorite - I am in love with those doors!

Thanks to Lifehacker for the sneak peek. See more of the Etsy office here.

tap crazy happy feet

Woke up to a gloomy day in Bangkok. What better way to battle the gloom than with a refreshing and fun wedding video that I recently came across on Once Wed. The wedding video of the talented Max Wanger and his new wife Margaux makes me want to tap my happy feet!

Enjoy!

#helpDOT

Nothing like a bunch of people willing to volunteer to help the Department of Tourism (DOT) in promoting Philippine tourism. Thanks to Carlos Celdran for sparking interest in the matter. Now, Team Manila and many others are stepping up to the plate in making their contribution in helping tourism efforts.

I definitely want to do my part as well, and posting these posters by Team Manila is a start.

A poster inspired by Carlos Celdran and his Old Manila Walk tours.
I'm definitely taking that tour in my next visit to Manila.

I've never been, but I hear it's breathtaking.
The Chocolate Hills are made up of 1,776 hills covered with green grass.
I want to see it for myself. I suggest you do too.

Sulu Sea contains a number of islands, and is home to Tubbataha Reef National Marine Park - which is one of the World Heritage Sites.

Approximately an hour away from Manila is a town where you'll find Taal Volcano. I grew up frequently visiting Tagaytay, a town overlooking the volcano. It is a spectacular sight to see.

They even made one for my hometown!
Hinulugang Taktak is definitely worth a visit.
Visit the Antipolo Cathedral while you're in town.

Do you have a blog? A Facebook account? Twitter? Post these posters, or better yet write about your favorite place in the Philippines. And while you're at it, follow @carlosceldran, @teammanila, and @entengromano on Twitter and suggest ways to help promote tourism in the Philippines.

is he or is she?

I've always been drawn to the androgynous look. This picture best captures the look I like.

baby dreams

Recently chanced upon Mila's Daydreams, a blog of a talented mom by the name of Adele who took on a new hobby while on maternity leave - that is to take pictures of her baby sleeping and imagining what her little one is dreaming about.

This is just too cute to pass up. Too cute, I say!

when i think of paris

...this image comes to mind.

I don't know why. But somehow I think of a girl sitting in a cafe, perhaps with a cigarette on one hand and Edith Piaf singing in the background.

I'd love to go one day and experience it for myself.

wise words

A friend left me a message the other day saying: I thought of you when I saw this site. I hope you're doing well.

The site he was referring to is Mini Motivation, pages upon pages of inspirational quotes from different personalities. Definitely a site worth checking out once a day to get a daily boost of confidence or a change of perspective.

Here are some of my favorites:
