2011 calendars are here

Pretty handmade fabric calendars by Lisa Rupp. I like the hot air balloon design.

In other news, I can't believe they're already printing 2011 calendars! I say that with a combination of panic and excitement. Sometimes I fail to wrap my head around the idea that my single days are counted, and in 4 months my name will have a different surname at the end and a Mrs. attached to it. Mrs. B has a good ring to it. I think I can get used to that.

jaw-dropping mini sculptures

When D says "You've got to see this!" and won't stop bugging me about it, there's a pretty good reason why he relentlessly insists on it. He was eager to show me a link that was shared by a friend on Facebook.

And when I saw it, my jaw dropped. What do you say when you see something like this? I mean seriously, how do you begin to describe this?

Uber talented Brazilian born Dalton Gheti meticulously carves the tips of pencils into mind-blowing mini sculptures.

Who doesn't like Lego? When I was younger, I used to play with it a lot and was fascinated with the countless things you can create with it. To this day, the fascination continues on and I'm still in awe at how this toy has captured the creativity of people, both young and old.

japanese street art

I caught a glimpse of Tokyo on CNNGo today. There was a segment on graffiti in the streets of Tokyo. Needless to say, I was enamored by this jaw-dropping street art.

The segment also featured Remo Camerota who came out with a book entitled Graffiti Japan, which exhibited photographs of Japanese graffiti. Here are some of the images from the book.

Uh-mazing. This alone warrants a trip to Japan to see it all for myself. Now if only I can convince D to give Japan another go.

a tape installation

I've been wanting to get my hands on these Japanese Washi paper tapes ever since I first saw them. But then I thought, what will I do with them except for maybe just sticking stuff together? Well, Rebecca Ward showed me and the rest of the world just what you can do with these pretty Japanese tapes! Check out this awesome tape installation she made for Kate Spade's flagship store in Japan.
